Marja Schoones, born on May 29, 1958 in Eindhoven.
Influenced by her father she started at young age making paintings and drawings. After her marriage she moved abroad, after a few years in France she lived for an extended period in Munich, Germany. In Germany she met a young group of artists and familiarized with the enormous art offerings at the leading art museums in Munich. It took many years until she started painting regularly. From that moment onwards her passion for painting and creating art was unstoppable. She was very eager to absorb the theoretical and technical knowledge of art painting. She was trained by several Dutch and foreign artists, next to an extended period at the Kunstacademie of Arendonk, Belgium, where she was trained in drawing for two years and painting for five years. This was followed by a two year specialization in painting. Due to this background and many extended periods abroad her themes and style are rather diverse, but always figurative, often very colorful with love and attention to details. Transferring a certain ambiance is for her more important than making a veracious image. She produces many paintings and she is busy with a certain theme for extended periods, research on all aspects of this theme is leading to interesting series. She exclusively works with oil paint often using small paintbrushes employing layer upon layer technique. She successfully exposed at several locations both nationally and abroad. At this location only a small selection of her works is displayed.
