Helmi Cuijpers (born in the Netherlands) complements her training as a graphic designer also the ABKM (Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht, the Netherlands) followed. Here she studied in the direction TeHaTex, a teacher training in drawing and painting. Since 1994 she has been working as a visual artist and artteacher. In 2005 she moved to Borlo, a small village near Sint-Truiden (Belgium), where she founded her own artschool , ‘t Kunsthof, in 2009.
In the Visual work by Helmi, the human figure is an important subject. Sometimes they are portraits, sometimes model paintings. Helmi studies the human figure from various themes; religion, mythology to ‘ regular ‘ portraits.
